She will tell us all about how people who experience childhood sexual trauma are impacted even as an adult.

Sarah Johnson

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a master’s degree in social work from Illinois State University. I specialize in trauma counseling, and I am certified to work with children, adolescents, and adults.

My past experiences allowed me to be a community outreach therapist offering therapeutic interventions in schools, residential facilities, community centers, shelters, and hospitals. I have extensive experience working with those who may struggle with PTSD, self-harm, substance abuse, and other trauma related challenges.

My therapeutic practice includes, but is not limited to Trauma Informed Care, Strengths Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I believe life’s journey can be unpredictable. While there are no avoiding life’s inevitable twists and turns, there are tools to help navigate through them.
